The Tooth Fairy Came

While it wasn't what we expected at all...the Tooth Fairy came last night.

No prelude of the wobbly tooth, only this:

We put the girls to bed and they were surprisingly quiet. I was thinking to myself, "How nice, they aren't horsing around. They must be getting used to sleeping in the same room together." When really all they have gotten used to is to being quiet enough that we don't hear them and separate them. So all is quiet, and then we hear that it's-the-real-thing kind of yell and I go downstairs thinking, "Now What!"

Fiona says "Brenna pulled my teeth apart!" The lights in the hallway aren't working at all, but in the darkness I can tell that her mouth is full of blood and I squeemishly call for Ryan.

As they say, it takes two:
Brenna: "She bit it!"
Fiona: "She pulled it!"

Evidently, Fiona had Brenna's blanket clenched between her teeth and Brenna yanked it out so hard that out came Fiona's tooth, a not-previously-loose tooth.

A Skype consult with Nana (and Evan) who called Papa (who is a dentist as is Robyn) assured us that it would be coming out soon anyhow and it will be fine, no need for a trip to the dentist.

Fiona's pain and tears coupled with sympathetic hysteria on Brenna's part subsided and led way to excitement about the Tooth Fairy.

Fiona woke up with a toothless smile, excited and proud to show her new friends at school.

I suppose there was some prelude, because we had just returned the Charlie and Lola book "My Wobbly Tooth Must Never Come Out" to the library. So there was some build-up and she knew that she had to put it right in the center under her pillow and go right to sleep! Thank you Charlie and Lola!
